The Electromagnetic Spectrum

I've mentioned some of the comics at the xkcd site before. Many of them are science related. I found the recent comic below about the electromagnetic spectrum hilarious! It covers everything from the stadium wave to the sinister Google projects. I love the absorption spectra. Click here to see a larger version of the comic on the xkcd site. Peep Show

This is a bit late, but check out this flash piece called Peep Show at the Washington Post site. It's pretty funny. You can scroll at the bottom of the screen. My favorite is #17. And yes, it is safe for work (it's not that kind of peep show). Thanks to the Foodie Report for pointing out the site.

7 Deadly Sins -- Indexed

I go to the Indexed blog every now and then. The posts are mostly diagrams or graphs that are basically single cell comics (they aren't all humorous) written on index cards. This recent post on the 7 deadly sins was quite clever.

Cooking with Monkey

I stumbled across a creative website called Cooking With Monkey. The site has collections of photographs that follow a stuffed monkey making various dishes from start to finish. The idea of a stuffed animal holding kitchen utensils and operating appliances to cook something struck me as very funny. The picture at the right shows Monkey making cupcakes. You can see Monkey making all kinds of recipes. I think it’s a cute, clever idea for a website – although a lot of work.

I must be in the target audience, because when I showed it to Dianne she didn’t think it was that cute. I thought the stuffed animal would enhance her interest, but it didn’t work. Maybe if the monkey rides a motorcycle she’ll get sucked in.

By the way, the cooking area is just a small part of the photo documentary of Monkey. Go here to see him doing all kinds of things like going to the dentist (getting teeth x-rays is the funniest pic in that series), going to the eye doctor, doing origami, and traveling in Chicago.

Bunny Movies

We don't subscribe to the Starz network, but I love the 30 second bunny movie parodies that they have available online. The latest is for the first Rocky movie. They also have one for Brokeback Mountain which is pretty funny. There is an index for these and more here.
